Sligo

Sligo is Yeats country and it looks the part. Benbulben is a flat topped limestone ridge north of the town, Knocknarea has an unopened cairn on top of it, and Carrowmore is a field of passage tombs older than the pyramids. The surf beaches are on the same twenty minute drive. Ten more sit under the top ten.
